Porter Ranch, CA – More than 50,000 people are expected to gather in Porter Ranch for what should be one of the largest and most colorful Fourth of July celebrations in the greater Los Angeles area. Shepherd Church has planned a free dynamic celebration of aerial fireworks, Civil Air Patrol color guard, Americana-style entertainment, moon bounces and face painting for children, and an abundance of food provided by local vendors and food trucks!

“Our annual Fourth of July Spectacular celebration brings our community together. It is a gift to the community in appreciation for what we have been given,” explains Senior Pastor Dudley Rutherford. “People need community, and that is what you will find here. We want to serve you.”

The festivities will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. The twenty-one minute aerial fireworks display presented by The Pyro Spectaculars by Souza will take place after sundown (at approximately 9:05 p.m.).

“We are very excited to celebrate our 17th anniversary this year. When we started, we didn’t know what to expect or who would come. It seems like the whole community comes, and it keeps getting bigger every year,” said Shepherd’s Director of Development, Paula Cracium. “800 volunteers work together to create a fun, exciting, and safe event for the whole family. It is truly a spectacular event!”

This celebration is free – a gift from Shepherd Church and many local sponsors including Shapell Properties, Toll Brothers, UCLA Health, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Facey Medical, and Councilman Mitchell Englander. Optional food purchases can be made from over a dozen local food vendors. Free activities include face painting, “moon bounces,” outdoor stage entertainment, local dignitary presentations, color guard provided by Civil Air Patrol and a C-17 Globemaster III military flyover.

Free parking is available on the northwest corner of Rinaldi St. & Porter Ranch Dr. Viewers are welcome to set up chairs along portions of Rinaldi St. and in the medical center parking lot on the southeast corner of Rinaldi & Porter Ranch Dr.
