After hearing many complaints from parents about the lack of legal parking at the Porter Ranch Community School in its inaugural year, Councilmember Mitchell Englander organized a working group to propose solutions. The group was comprised of LAUSD, parents, community members, the Porter Ranch Development Company and the Councilmember's Office. Ultimately, it was concluded that parking should be allowed on the east side of Mason and the south side of Sesnon. To accommodate parking, traffic lanes and bike lanes, the beautiful median on Mason needed to be reduced in width. Work was done over the summer to downsize the median, restripe the streets, modify the signal at Mason and Sesnon, and post signs. The work was paid for jointly by the Porter Ranch Development Company and LAUSD.
