The LAUSD school board approved the proposed K-8 span school for Porter Ranch at their meeting on December 13, 2006. They approved the proposed site at their meeting on April 24, 2007. At that meeting we were represented by comments made by Becky Leveque, PRNC President, Mel Mitchell and Chris Cooper, PRNC Board Members. S&S also presented comments in support of the school.
The next steps in the process are hiring the architect, making changes to the Specific Plan and concurrent design and Environmental Impact Report process.
There have been two community meetings: October 16, 2006 and February 22, 2007 at Germaine Elementary School.
