The LAUSD School Board considered a motion on October 23rd which affects the continued funding of schools approved by voters under Measure Y. This includes the Porter Ranch K-8 span school.

Stakeholder Wendy L. Moore went to the board meeting and spoke on behalf of the community about our need for and support of funding neighborhood schools as promised under Measure Y. Dave Hasson, from Shappell was also on hand.

The School Board approved the motion, allowing our school to move forward. The school site has been approved and LAUSD is currently completing the Environmental Impact Study. Once that is finished, architectural designs can begin. It is expected to take at least four years before the school is operational.
