On June 20, 2011, an LAPD helicopter noticed a car over the side of the cliff on Braemore. The Fire dept checked it out by repelling down the cliff and determined that no one was in the car. They decided to have it removed the next morning. It turned out to be an old car that had gone unnoticed for some time. Much of it was buried in the dirt.
Greg Baker of Ross Baker Towing was in the middle of pulling the car up when one of his crew noticed a baby owl on the cliff right in the path of where the car would have been towed up. Most tow truck operators would have just pulled the car up, but Baker stopped the operation and relocated the huge truck. Thank you to Greg Baker for protecting our wildlife!
