As of October 2013 we have heard a number of concerns about construction and dust and have contacted Shapell. They have provided this update about planned restriping of Mason and Seson to create legal street parking near the Porter Ranch Community School. Also included is information on grading north of Corbin, construction near PRCS and the planned opening of Seville at Porter Ranch. From Shapell October 10, 2013:
We very much appreciate the PRNC contacting us regarding stakeholder concerns with construction activities in Porter Ranch. The construction work currently underway is the activity described in our letter dated June 3, 2013 as posted on the PRNC website under construction news. The work began in the summer and is expected to take approximately 6 months. The earth-moving operations are part of the approved growth plan for Porter Ranch and are permitted activities. We continue to strive to be good neighbors and are available to discuss any concerns or answer questions about the on-going operations.
Notices have been posted in select areas to advise residents that some construction activities will include deep impact excavation which may result in brief ground vibrations. It is extremely difficult to pin-point exact dates and times for this type of work, but residents are welcome to call and discuss. Winds are always an issue in Porter Ranch and we are working very closely with the contractors to ensure proper watering is taking place to minimize dust issues.
