Porter Ranch: The Place to Shop Local
Share/Save

This holiday season the Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council encourages you to shop locally. It is great for our economy as well as fast, easy and saves gas. Our several shopping centers offer everything you might need from gifts for that special someone to specialty grocery items and make it yourself gifts. And don’t forget to treat yourself to spa services and eat out at one of our great Porter Ranch restaurants.

This year the community has taken extra steps to make sure your shopping experience is a safe one. PRNC President Paula Cracium spoke with LAPD Senior Lead Office Danny Del Valle to help acquire the necessary resources for volunteers to beef up security at the Town Center. Over the holidays the LAPD will be increasing security with Mounted Patrols, LAPD Cadets, the Volunteer Surveillance Team and possibly bicycle patrols. We are grateful to Officer Del Valle for the LAPD’s efforts in our community during this upcoming holiday season.

At the next PRNC meeting on November 13, Walmart Store Manager Fernando Reyes will present the plan for increased customer safety and easy first responder access to the store during this year’s Black Friday sale. We will also have Assemblyman Mike Feuer, candidate for Los Angeles City Attorney, as guest speaker. Please join us on Tuesday, November 13, 6pm, at Shepherd of the Hills Church. Please note, the meeting is on the second Tuesday of the month, due to elections. Agenda

Plan to join us for the annual PRNC Holiday Party on Tuesday, December 4, at the Porter Valley Country Club. More details to come. This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and PRNC Board Members.

Events

The Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council is an organization that is officially certified by the City of Los Angeles to increase our influence with City lawmakers and departments to improve our community.

The PRNC came about as a result of Los Angeles City Charter Reform and interested stakeholders in our community. The Board is elected by stakeholders and holds monthly meetings, usually on the first Wednesday of the month. The agenda is emailed to those who subscribe (see the green box in the upper corner), on our website here and posted at 11280 Corbin Avenue, Northridge, CA 91326 on a bulletin board facing Corbin street.

The Board is comprised of volunteers who want to help you make Porter Ranch a better place to live, work and grow. We can't do it for you, but we can do it with you.
