Land Use Committee Supports Park Plan
Share/Save

On April 26 the Land Use Committee heard a presentation from Toll Brothers on a proposed park downhill from the Porter Ranch Community School. The Developer in conjunction with CouncilMember Englander's Office sought community feedback on desired elements. As a result, the park will include playgrounds, pickleball/tennis courts, hiking trails with view points, and a pavilion for a Farmer's Market. The PRNC also supported the plan at the May 11 meeting and the plan was to go to the Recreation and Parks Commission for approval. They expect to begin construction in early 2017 and finish in the fall of 2017.

The park will be accessible from Mason and have parking near the Mason entrance. It will also be accessed via Porter Ranch Drive with an access road to Mason. There will be parking along the access road. The Active Park is for the playground, sports courts, whereas the Passive Park is for hiking and view points.

This view provides better views of the topography and where the amenites will be located.

The Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council is an organization that is officially certified by the City of Los Angeles to increase our influence with City lawmakers and departments to improve our community.

The PRNC came about as a result of Los Angeles City Charter Reform and interested stakeholders in our community. The Board is elected by stakeholders and holds monthly meetings, usually on the first Wednesday of the month. The agenda is emailed to those who subscribe (see the green box in the upper corner), on our website here and posted at 11280 Corbin Avenue, Northridge, CA 91326 on a bulletin board facing Corbin street.

The Board is comprised of volunteers who want to help you make Porter Ranch a better place to live, work and grow. We can't do it for you, but we can do it with you.
