The PRNC Community Earth Day Event at the Holleigh Bernson Memorial Park on Saturday, April 14, was an amazing success. Hundreds of stakeholders came to the event where they enjoyed a healthy lunch, including vegan options in honor of Earth Day. Everyone mingled among the booths full of very helpful information on how to take care of our environment and received fun give-aways and free trees. Most importantly, the kids had great fun! We had a scavenger hunt and a recyle relay game and many of them made their first paper kites, and flew them!
We appreciate everyone who came and participated, and we hope you enjoyed yourselves.
We want to express our gratitude to the Northridge West Neighborhood Council for partnering with us, and to the following organizations for supporting the event with their presence:
- LA Sanitation
- LA Department of Water & Power
- LA Stormwater Program
- Climate Reality Project
- NASA
- SoCal 350
- Tree People
- North Valley YMCA
- Save Porter Ranch
- Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance
We also want to thank Councilman Englander and State Senator Henry Stern for sending representatives to the event and supporting us. Colin Crews and Kevin Taylor: we always love to see you! Thank you for being there.
